Nitro Boulevard

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Nitro Boulevard is unapologetically arcade. There's no engine tuning spreadsheet here — just fast cars, wet neon streets and a drift button that becomes your best friend. Tap it going into a corner, feed the throttle, and watch your boost meter climb. Chain drifts together and you fly.

The single-player circuit tour is decent, but the game really opens up in its time-attack ghost mode, where you race your own best runs. I lost a good hour shaving milliseconds off one downtown lap. Controls default to tilt but the touch layout is far better once you remap it.

Visually it leans hard on that synthwave look, which won't be for everyone, but the sense of speed is excellent for a phone game and the frame rate held steady on my mid-range device.
