Iron Vanguard
★★★★☆ 4.2
Iron Vanguard is a compact strategy game that translates the genre to touch better than most. You build a base, manage two resources, and push out units against AI or asynchronous player defences. Commands are quick — drag to select, tap to move — and it never felt fiddly.
The campaign eases you in with tight, scenario-based maps rather than open sandboxes, which I appreciated. Each mission has a specific puzzle to solve, so it's less about turtling and more about reading the enemy layout.
Progression can stall a little in the mid-game, and some maps repeat, but the core strategy is genuinely satisfying and matches load fast.
What we liked
- Touch controls that don't fight you
- Scenario missions with real strategic puzzles
- Quick matches good for short sessions
