Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga surprised me by taking its writing seriously. The framing story — a fallen kingdom, a reluctant heir, the usual bones — is dressed up with genuinely good character banter. Battles are turn-based with a stamina system that stops you spamming your strongest moves, so positioning and timing matter.

Party building is where I sank the most time. Each companion has a distinct role and a personal quest line that unlocks new abilities. Grinding is present but gentle, and you can autopilot easy fights to keep things moving.

There's some clutter in the UI and the shop screens push a bit hard, but the actual role-playing underneath is strong. If you want a story to follow on your phone, this one earns its hours.
